WHAT IS AXISBULL FITNESS?

TRUE ACCOUNTABILITY IS TO ACCEPT A LOSS THAT YOU DIDN’T WORK TO IMPROVE.

Client management app

This app is mainly designed for fitness instructors but the clients also benefit greatly because of the added features. I added features to help them stay on track. Axisbull ensures that every action by both instructors and users is tracked and acknowledged.

THE CHALLENGE

Create a client management app for fitness trainers.

THE GOAL

Motivate users to engage with the app more by adding features based on the user’s pain points and needs.

Our biggest mission? Keep the users engaged while implementing features that voice out realistic actions needed for a successful fitness program.

RESEARCH

I created a user biography profile with a set of questions on what each side experiences difficulties with based on the fitness app they are currently using and what improvements they would like to see (user biography is available upon request).

UX IDEATION

As a UX designer, I always start out design ideas with paper wireframes then proceed with a low-fidelity prototype then into a high-fidelity prototype.

After Insights

From the persona alone, it's clear that both fitness instructors and app users are encountering problems. Users on the client side are also facing issues, such as not finding the information they need and not having enough engaging features. Additionally, there are simple problems with how the app works, like clear calls to action and organizing information properly.

IMPACT

While continuously improving the application, I realized that paying attention to details on user needs can make the biggest difference in providing the best features on an app. We will be researching and addressing the concern of updating the functions as time goes on.

WHAT I LEARNED:

Users aren’t just motivated by rewards, they are also motivated by being pushed. Surprisingly people nowadays like to work with apps that help them build their discipline up. Whether it be a step into modern innovations or history repeating itself, people change constantly and UX designers need to ensure they keep designs up-to-date with people and their needs. In this project, I learned that you don’t need to finalize all your designs and features all in one session of creating wireframes and mock-ups. Iteration of design and functionality happens throughout your research.
